Alison McCormack Rowe grew up in Ellis County, Texas, where her family has raised cattle and cotton for five generations. Alison graduated Waxahachie High School in three years and was the Valedictorian of her high school class. After graduating from high school, Alison spent one year studying abroad in Hanover , Germany . Alison attended Southwestern University in Georgetown , Texas , where she graduated summa cum laude. While attending Southwestern, Alison studied law for one semester in Osnabrück , Germany .
Alison attended law school at Cornell University in Ithaca , New York . After graduating from Cornell, Alison started her legal career at Jenkens & Gilchrist, a Professional Corporation in Dallas , Texas , the largest law firm in Dallas at the time. Alison worked for Jenkens & Gilchrist (which combined with Hunton & Williams, LLP in April 2007) for six years, during which she obtained invaluable “big firm” experience in both transactional and litigation matters.
A horse owner and reining enthusiast, Alison began her specialization in equine law while working for Jenkens & Gilchrist. Alison’s familiarity with equine legal issues flowed naturally through her personal involvement in the horse industry and her desire to assist horse-industry friends and acquaintances with the unique set of legal issues they face.
Alison founded this law firm in July 2007 in response to the overwhelming need for competent, timely, and cost-effective legal services for horse businesses and horse owners.
Alison is married to Frederick E. “Rick” Rowe of Dallas , Texas . Rick is a six year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he worked as a cryptologic linguist specializing in Middle Eastern languages. Rick is an avid team roper, and is currently pursuing a career in veterinary medicine.
